Just got my e-mail to say I've been successful for both the Old and the New.......................next November!! Don't care about the month - just going to be a fantastic experience.

You'll have a great time - I always enjoy playing the New course even if it gives me a spanking.

Great stuff, Paul. You'll love the Jubilee too.

My application wasn't successful and I feel really bad for the group. Hopefully something else can be arranged though. :)

I was due to play last November until I found out that you have to carry an astroturf mat and play every shot off it on the Old Course from 1st November.

Cancelled when I found out, no way would I do that anywhere on a grass course.

Cheers. Have heard great things about the New as well. Going to be an incredible experience.

Yes I've heard about the mats. I know what you're saying but at the end of the day it's about the whole St Andrews experience for me. Will go back in the summer at some point.

Blimey! £260 squiddly-diddleys is not exactly chicken feed.

My brother who was a club member long before me tells people how he played The Old Course back in the 80s for something like (if I recollect correctly) about £15.

How times change.

How does the ballot work? Is there a deadline each year and if so I take it I have missed it for this time?

Do you need to know who you are booking for ie the names in the 4 ball at the time of entering?
