Off here in two weeks time for the weekend, what am I to expect. Sadly playing the same course both days (Masters?) as its busy. Hoping for a good weekend, 18 of us so the après golf will be great, hoping the golf is too.
Played The Open course a few times but not The Masters. The Open course is fine, it rebranded itself recently and I sometimes get the impression the whole setup is trying to be a bit grander than it really is, but I'm sure you will have a good weekend. Where you staying as it is a bit in the middle of nowhere.
I am a member there, the Masters is a nice course the back nine being prettier and harder then the front 9, they have done a lot of work to the Masters and in my opinion its as nice if slightly easier than the Open course, they are moving the tees on 3 holes to make 2 more par 5's but they wont be open when you play. If its windy the 8/9 are a real challenge as play into the wind. Good half way hut and food in the clubhouse 2 meals for a £10.
Pity you arent on the open as it has a lot more water in play but often full up with comps or societies can even be difficult for members to get tee times.
Definetly invested a lot of money to attract more weddings, be careful of brides and grooms standing by the 9th !!
Lots of other courses around if you fancied a different place for your second round, would suggest Wollaton or Beeston fields
