The most balls lost during 1 round of golf?

I played with a guy once who bought a full new box of balls before he went out (some mid range ball about £25 worth) and he proceeded to lose every single one by the 13th or something like that

I threw him a rock ball that i found so he could carry on and he didnt lose it for the remaining 4 or 5 holes left :D

I lost 5 this year at north west national but I was hitting a load around the place practising.

most in one round is unknown. I lost a bucket full at rossapenna when the course bent me over and spanked me when the weather tuned mental after around 7 holes.

My first medal this year at my new club, it was a non counter, due to the snow on the course, but I was still really tense, no idea why. Had 6 balls in my bag. Lost 2 off the first Tee to NR the first. Never managed to get a ball in play, before walking on with my new playing partners.

Lost another on the 3rd with a shank. Lost another off the 6th tee and began to panic as my odds of not losing another especially with all the patches of snow everywhere, were very slim to say the least.

Luckily I made it home with 2 baws left and saved face,,,,, sort off :-)

I remember playing at Portrush in 1979, my final year at Lancaster uni, in some uni comp, with teams of five from any uni in England, Scotland, Ireland and wales.

I was the highest handicap in our team off 8, the other four players being 5 and below, with the best being 1. We had a practice round and the rough was penal, afterwards we were all complaining about losing balls, so we counted up, and the total lost from 5 golfers was 35!!! . I had only lost 5.

During the competition proper, I only lost 3 balls, and shot 83, which I was quite proud of. I am pretty sure we played two courses, but I cannot recall anything about the easier course, so I obviously didn't play it as well.

Cheers
Ian

four went last night and only got as far as a tee shot on 16. 2 were lost within the "environs" of a fairway.

fortunately they were free from another golf mag. unfortunately they were the new z stars and only arrived tuesday...

A guy the other day achieved the following lost balls - playing a 2-man scramble against a reasonable single.

1. 2 off the tee; 1 as shot into green
2. 2nd shot
3. All clear!:D
4 (par 3) Tee shot (unlucky!)
5 Tee shot.
6. Tee shot
7. (par 3) Tee shot lost in heather (unlucky)
8. All clear! (270yd Drive)
9. All clear
10 (par 3) Lost OB pin high, 70 yards left
11 All clear - tee shot just stayed in bounds
12 (par 3) All clear
13 Tee shot - onto adjacent course!
14. All clear
15. Tee shot.
16. All clear
17 (Par 3) Tee shot.
18. Tee shot.

So 13!

When I was a member at Enniscrone we passed a group of three Americans who had just finished the fourth hole, they stopped us by asking if we played here every week and when we responded yes it was our home course they asked how we managed with golf balls as they had lost 27 between them  the third is a fairly simple par 3 as well :D I shudder to think how many the eventually lost. Needless to say when we finished myself and another guy went out and stocked up on one hit wonders of pro v's

Thank god for that, I was getting worried here that nobody was mentioning double figures. Why can't they invent balls that float?
I believe they have but its not legal or something
Im pretty sure i heard they have, but hopefully some one can confirm that
