All this unrest and toppling of governments in the middle east makes me wonder. Are the yanks behind it all, they are usually lurking in the background when this sort of thing happens, and it's always down to oil.

I think that it's technology thats behind it. In every country the people can now see, with the internet, mobile phones, satellite tv etc what is happening elsewhere and the pace for change gathers momentum each time a despotic ruler gets toppled
Lets hope that the new regime's are better than the ones they replace

Don't think so, they seem to be between a rock and a hard place. They want to see democracys but risk losing friendly dictators and getting islamic, hostile Iran clones.

The public vitriol of the campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan means that all out war is off the cards so if a revolution is started then the public will be onside.
The SAS have, for years, trained locals to revolt when the UK government want a certain ruler out.

I think the ordinary people are just realising that they are allowed to think for themselves, I'm not with the conspiracy theories. I hope all the situations are resolved with the right results, I think some will end up ok but not sure about others.
Don't care as long as it resolves itself bloody quick and petrol gets down to an affordable price. When if costs £50 to fully fill a poxy Fiesta then it has gone too far

That's what happens when you 'pimp' it with a two litre Cosworth engine, 21" rims, blacked out windows, baked bean can exhaust and an 'on a mission' sticker in the rear window.

If the W ... Yanks can unsettle an oil producing country ruled over by a dictator and 'help' them bring democracy they will expect loylty when it comes to said country selling their oil. Facebook and Twitter are also letting people see lifestyles and cultures they want to have. A qualified Egyptian doctor earns £40 a month and hears doctors in other countries earning hundreds and even thousands per week.

Well, from what I have heard they are not trying to do that...
I think that after so many years of fighting and struggling there they are now trying to resolve things which gives people with nothing to do other idea's then killing yanks...
...like toppling governments...
include students in it (bright people), so therefore it has an amazingly strong case to get rid of the slimey gits who are running the countries in the middle east.
And those slimey gits are not worth keeping for the people of the middle east. I think they are also finding out about the stuff europe and many other countries (like cuba, russia, china etc.) discovered back in the old days.
Well, one could say that America has hands their hands in this big pie for a very long time, but I doubt that they had an idea of toppling sooo many governments so quickly.
Bet you the Americans have not got their hands in it any more, so that would explain why these things actually happen.
