ON a recent trip to Germany we were taken to the Mercedes Benz Museum and I was astonished by the number of priceless masterpeices they had on show. There must have been 200 immaculate examples of engineering. I have addes a few pics for your perusal.

I would recommend a visit if you ever find yourself in that area.

I visited my niece who was working in Stuttgart a few years ago and went to the museum, absolutely must do if you are lucky enough to go there.
Great pictures, I wish that I was computer literate enough to be able to post things like that (Old Age!!)

I worked for Mercedes for a number of years, and luckily I went to Stuggart a couple of times, the museum is fantastic, also the factory tour is amazing.
If anyone buys a new Merc ask for a "factory collection", they fly you out there and put you up in a hotel, you are taken to the factory the next day, where you have a tour, afterwards you receive a hand-over of your new vehicle. You then drive it back through Germany and France to Calais, it really is a fabulous trip, it is "free" for one person, and you pay for anyone extra (which used to be about £200). I believe they are the only manufacturer that offers this option.

Superb Andy.

I looked into the BWM one in Munich when we are over for Oktoberfest but then I discovered a tour of the Erdinger factory that includes 2 hours of unlimited 'tasting' in the bar afterwards....for nowt....guess what's won?!

I have been to the merc museum and it is impressive. Equally impressive is the BMW one in Munich, and the factory tour too. They make 3 series in Munich, from panels to full on cars, engines too. It is one of the most complete car factories in the world.

Dodger, you missed out.

Don't be ridiculous....ale versus cars? Ale is the winner everytime.

I am often in Munich, and yes, the beer is good. But it is not often you get to see a car factory, and double for one as complete as BMW.

I did the museum tour, found that there was an English factory tour two hours later, so went to a local pub for some liquid lunch to while away the time. Time well spent, as the factory tour is very good. I am in manufacturing, and this was still proper interesting.

Better in many ways than various brewing tours I have been on. Which get a bit samey. Including the drinky bit.

Each to there Own Murph but we are there for 4 days primarily to get pished so the Erdinger do fits the bill far better than the BMW one.
