No.....He is the man for the job!

Telling interview frm Olly Wilson there, asked what the main difference he thinks in style between Faldo and Monty and he gives a nervous giggle before saying 'he will communicate with us'

As I have said in a previous post I have it on good authority that Faldo was all me me me and didn't converse alot with the guys, that to me is one of the most important parts of the captaincy so this appointment can only be a plus.

They are all professional golfers, they shouldnt really need much team coaching to be honest. I dont think Faldo did the best job he could have but I cant wait to see monthys red face when the media get hold of him.

I wouldn't have chosen him this time around, but that said I am still very happy with the decision and think he will do a good job. His interview which was just on sky sports was great and showed all the credentials I hope will emerge during his captaincy, hopefully resulting in a european victory.

Referring to what Dodger said about it being 'me me me' with Faldo it was interesting to see Monty emphasise that it is about europe and the team not him, so maybe his thought towards Faldo is the general consensus.

You know what. I really hope Monty does a good job, I honestly do, why... Because like it or not, he is our Captain now and everyone should get behind him, regardless of how you feel about him. Esepecially the Media, they have so much influance they could help out a hell of alot!

Just watching SSN and Sam Torrence and Oliver fisher have both said how well of a job they think he will do, both have them made a point of saying he will be a good comunicator, and thats important.

I also think the fact he has a great Ryder cup record will inspire the players they are being led by someone who CAN do the job. Lets just hope he does.

Faldo was proof that no matter how well you can play it's no guarantee that you can lead a team.

Not sure what experience Monty has of leading a team, hopefully those making the selection did have it on their list.

Monty isn't my first choice, but as has been said, he's the Captain so he will have my support (for what that's worth).
One thing is a certainty, the press would have been kinder to Ollie than they will be to Monty.

I like monty, i just hope everybody including the dreaded press get behind him and support his wild card picks and not treat him the way faldo got treated.

Imurg your spot on. i think the media will be out to get him although for us to win the ryder cup we have to be united on and off the track.
