Right oh, here goes. Have forgotten all the final scores so they will be posted soon.

The course was in great condition with lightning quick greens and fairways in top condition, for this time of the year it could not have been faulted apart from one temporary green but that's just being pedantic.

The day started of with the usual meet and greets before heading to the range to see how our swings were behaving. For me this was a bad idea as I was swinging like a right plonker and I lost some confidence before heading out.
I wish I spent the time on the putting green, however, there were about 10 blokes working on it.

As for the round. I really struggled off the tee and fluffed so many tee shots. The other guys all drove the ball well with lots of bandit comments flying about.

Above is a picture of the 12th green, 190 yrd par 3 over water, we all decided to have a bit of fun and play of the championship blue tees so it played the full 190yrds, clubs used ranged from driver to 5 iron. Gotta get this in - I played the 5 iron and over shot the green by at least a club (Sorry Murpth I have listed about clubbing down I just wanted to tw*t it). Anyhow of the yellow I reckon it was a harder shot due to the angle and playing fully over water, I think we all made a 4 on that hole?

Right I gotta cut this off as my dinner is ready, im sure one of the other guys will carry on..............

The driver does work, when im confident. I always start with the 3 wood and build some confidence before moving up. Im hitting my 3 wood about 240 in this weather, so I dont really need the driver. I just bottled it at the range and lost my confidence. I know it sounds like a lame excuse but im sure the lads will confirm I couldn't hit a barn door at the range and then I flufed a few shots with the 3 wood and really struggled off the tee.

One positive is finding a Srixon URC at the range and falling in love, these are by far the bast ball I have used, they feel heavier in the hand than other balls but feel so good to play with, will buy some this evening a write a full review in the relevant section.

Who mentioned bandits then?

Apart from a few not so good shots off the tee, HTL was creaming his custom fitted Mizzies (bog standard apparently) and will not be playing off 22 for long. He played very consistantly and finished with a very creditable 34 points on what is not an easy course.

WelshJim and I had a few bad holes between us and came in with 28 and 27 points respectively. I've really been struggling with my irons recently and my short game let me down today.

I think that Rob2 way toying with us on the front 9 having scored 14 points. In the next 5 holes he scored 18 points and finished up with an excellent 38 points playing off 27. If he could have got his putter working on some of the other holes he could easily have had 42 - 44 points. 27 h/cap - yeh right

Well done guys, great game, great company, well played Rob and thanks for organising it.

It was a great course and I had a great time. Especially as I got lucky on the back nine.. :) :) :)

As Leftie said, if it wasn't for my rancid putting it could have been even better.

Dont listen to Hywel, he is too hard on himself. He did have a couple of stinkers off of the tee, but he also creamed some beauties right down the middle, and they way he hits those irons...... Sweeeet!!

Cheers lads, good day.

Rob2

That hole looks gorgeous, I'd definitely like to play the course at some point and I'm glad you had a good day out. What did the green fee cost this time of year?

I could have told you HTL is a bandit. He's now of +2 at Ascot

Oh Crap! Bloody hell! Sh*t!

SSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Now im sitting down I cant be live how good the course was! Was by far the best I have played, I really did like it. Cant wait till next time.

£55, was a bargain for the service we had.

Created at the front gate, clubs picked up from us at reception, free range balls, range of grass, proper plush facilities etc.

HTL if you fancy going back in late April time I'll PM some dates once I've looked at leave charts in work. Can you find out what the rates are around w/c 27th April and maybe we can get a forum meet sorted.

April £65 upwards

May - Oct £95 upwards and if you miss fairway and 1st cut, put another down - it's elephant territory then

Think this has to win a prize for injury of the day! Sorry if anyone was eating as they opened this message. Its proper hurting at the moment, I just put a load of antiseptic on it as it was seeping a load of yellow stuff. Not good!

Bloody new rugby boots + New golf shoes, not good for my left heel. I got extra bone growth due to my arthritis and it takes ages to break in new shoes, bad times.

The several cans of larger I have had has helped but still, bad times, no golf for me for the next few days :(

Well up for going back in April, as long as its not Saturday 18th or Sunday 19th. Its Easter weekend and HID is taking me back to Andover, she has to do the whole Easter weekend religion thing.

Take notes forum members around the area, im looking for a game!

Murpth, you must! No excuse it is an an amazing place and course. You will love it.

If we get it for under £70 it will be a very good price.
