Shoot a par on one hole amidst whispers of banditry (jokingly of course)

Then fire off a 10 on the next hole

Gotta pull my socks up play some comps and crack 20 (currently a 27 btw)

Don't hog all those 10's !! Thankfully our society do stableford because my 2nd today at Studley Wood would have been near a ten

But then went and birdied the next three holes :D

the other day 1 had 7 pars, not bad for a 20 handicapper

unfortunately the 5 blobs ruined what would have been a spectacular card

still 30 points on 13 holes shows potential :)

High handicappers should play for pars and not birdies as the golfing gods take great delight in dumping a quadruple or bigger on the next hole, just to put things back into balance.

I keep getting told I shouldn't be getting pars on a 27 handicap at all

But I always play the game that way, if the number on the tee says 4 I try to get it in in 4

I had a 21 A couple of days ago.

Long off the tee into the rough so dropped and took a provisional, which took the same line but ended up in the fairway bunker. 3 off the tee. Couldn't find the original so hit the prov out the bunker for 4. Shanked a 6 iron out the semi rough 60 yards, 5. Fatted a 8 iron into another bunker, 6. Duff out the bunker hitting the top of the mound and bouncing down into a yellow water hazard 7. Thought it was playable from inside the hazard and proceeded to take 2 attempts to get it out before burying it in the soft wet mud and declaring it unplayable, that made 9 so dropped outside, on point of entry in line with the flag as I wasn't going back to the bunker. Dropped in semi rough on a slight slope for a 10. Then some how thinned, hacked, fatted whatever 3 times hitting the ball back into the same water hazard, each time picking up and dropping again now on 16 managed to finally get it over the WH onto the back of the green and through to the semi rough behind the green for 17. Fluffed the chip to the fringe (obviously) 18. Chipped down the hill from the fringe to 3 ft past, 19. Missed the putt and finally tapped in for 21. Not my finest moment and probably the worst ever score of anyone ever in the history of the world.

Birdied the 5th.

In a stableford.

No, strokeplay. If it was stableford I would have picked up after failing to get out the water hazard for a 9 (it was a par 5 and I had 2 shots as it is SI 2 for that hole)

Unless you are referring to 21 as a reference to points?

Love this post, shows I'm not the only One!

Last night a gross Birdie on a par 5, next hole Eagle 2 on a short par 4! unfortunately playing on my own so could not share, next two holes lost two balls of the Tee out of bounds with very large cuts (some may say slice but I prefer the Bubby description of a large cut)

27 here and capable of some very eratic golf. Parred our index 1 465yd par4 last time out for a nice 4 pointer. But on our index 18 280yd par 4 I card an 8. Also bobbed the 3 shortest par 3s.

Our rough is really not helping at the moment it's so thick and you really have to chop a lofted iron out of it, even if you miss the fairway by a yard

Our course is playing pretty hard of late
