Had a dentist's appointment this morning (root canal treatment) so was feeling a bit sorry for myself when I got to work - not any more - just got a text from the wife to tell me she's booked us to play the Championship course at Carnoustie in June.

She's a top girl

She's a keeper! How did you get her into golf?

Good question - she started when we moved to Aberdeenshire - we were walking down the street on day and loads of people said hello to me - she asked how I knew so many people given that we'd not stayed long in the place and I worked a fair few miles away - I told here I'd played golf or had a pint post round with most of them, she was a member within weeks and they had an outstanding ladies section so she made loads of mates.

She plays more than me but would never normally pay a heap of money for a round of golf - We can get Carnoustie half price (£82.50) as we're members of a club in Angus.

Hopefully I get to pay her back for the Carnoustie round in September when it's her birthday and we're going to take a week off and enter the Old Course ballot every day.

I thought this was going to be about the programme, which I have to say now given the chance, I enjoy

That's great news

I'm very lucky that my wife is very much into golf as well - it's great.

It was my mates anniversary a couple of weeks ago.

His wife surprised him with a round at forest of arden including evening meal and bed and breakfast

she bought it for two and asked me if I wouldn't mind going with him!

bonus

Mine caddied for me for 9 holes on my birthday but thats about it.

On our honeymoon in the Lake District we booked three rounds in the area

For our first anniversary we went for a golf stay and play :D

Every month we play about 3 or 4 times

Looking forward to when she retires from hockey and she takes up golf full time

My wife plays golf a fair bit more than me - she's twice a week year round whereas I struggle to get out in the winter at all as I'm photographing football at the weekends.

We only really play together on holiday - Northern Ireland last year was superb, five days of golf on smashing courses in beautiful weather.

She's talking about us going golfing in Florida next year - We've got a winter break in the football up here next year so middle of January is looking good for a trip to the Naples/Fort Myer area and a few rounds in the sunshine.

Oh the joys of having a beloved who enjoys going on the golf course with you, especially when you are on holiday. :whoo:

That's nice, but I'm pretty happy that the Mrs isn't into golf.
She's got her horses, which leaves me to play golf with my mates.
Happy all around.
