The good and bad of humanity - the bad are a disgrace...

Ties into a tiny snippet of research I did recently on 'the homeless'. Was quite a fun project. If you're bored, I made a couple of videos.

One is a review of a study where participants where asked to draw 'homelessness':

I wonder how many of us walk past with our heads averted/bowed? My other half is genuinely frightened of the homeless, sleeping in dorrways, and beggars. I usually put something in their 'cup'. I've given my last tenner, and even the gloves I was wearing. I feel guilty that society(we) have let so many people down.

I know there are professional beggars out there, but that's not for me to judge. I'd rather give in the hope that its hitting the spot, than not give at all.

Most golfers won't let a 'single' play thru even though he/she is probably about 2hrs a round faster. Don't see what this vid proves.... we're all nasty? that's nothing new.

Interesting - I'd have drawn the first one for sure...not sure what that says about me. I too am somewhat afraid/wary of those living on the streets, although cities and towns for me are intimidating places regardless. Without doubt I'd have told the guy in the video that he should keep his money as his needs (appear) greater than mine but again not sure what that says about me!

Hmm I don't know about that, our four ball let a 3 and 2 ball through on Thursday and both of them thanked us on course and in the 19th after. One of them called me by my first name three times and god knows who he is.

100%"with you on this. I will place my few pennies into his hand and share a few words - the loneliness and feelings of rejection and being ignored must be awful.

Must admit i generally dont give cash to the beggars we have as most are known alcoholics ,

There was this guy that use to be around the town where i work doors, seemed a decent sort of a bloke, i remember 1 winter night it was freezing down hard & he was looking for money to buy a bag of chips ,

i didnt give him the money but i bought him chips and 2 sausages in the chippers beside us , he stood talking to us as he ate them and told every1 passing in and out what i had done for him ..

He thanked me and said it was the first thing in years that someone had bought for him

He got looked after that year by the door staff and some of the bar staff .. havent seen him around in years tho

I STILL dont give cash to beggars tho
