Am not usually the sentimental type but today I hooked up with 3 guys I have never met before and spent a fantastic 5 hours in their company and its all because of this place.

I played with thecraw, Bunkers and Grumps and Crawfords home course Old Ranfurly and it felt like I had known them for years.

Thecraw is a good 5 handicapper and his short game made me jealous and his 910 is the dogs danglies. A true gentleman who's oncourse advice was appreciated.

Bunkers (Raymond) is a shark at 15 and when he almost chipped in I had to use one of my 'terms of endearment' on him. Lovely swing and good tempo.

Grumps is another with a handicap sure to reduce this year. Off 19 but with a new driver in transit he will soon be off 14 I am sure. An inspirational captain.

Three gentlemen and one knob. ;)

The banter was almost immediate and continued all the way round and didn't stop whilst we were enjoying a nose bag in the clubhouse.

There were some smashing golf at times and the odd blusher too but that's what makes this forum so unique. We are all on here to chew the fat and talk and play golf. What would we be doing without it?

P.S.

Am stone cold sober !!

PPS

Me and Grumps pumped the other two. :) :)

AV IIIIIIIIIIIIIIT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Couldn't have summed this place up better. Undoubtedly THE place to be (have you seen TG's site lately - ghost town). The crowd on here are unique and even though I have had more than the odd run in with certain members I'm big enough to take the brickbats and bullets (sometimes deserved) the banter and humour far outweigh the odd rough ride. I've met a fair number of guys too from here too and look forward to meeting a few more at Blackmoor and St Pierre and to a man they have been great commpany and enjoyable playing partners. Big well done to alll of us!

Its a cracking course. Played it last weekend with Crawford and cant wait to go back.

Bunkers and Grumps are also good company having played with both before also. Looking forward to Machrihanish to get a game with yourself aswell.

Totally agree there Andy ,on Friday i made the 220 mile round trip to Dundonald to meet craw,algar5 who i've both played with before and bunkers who id never met before for a game i played like a total chopper but had a great day in great company.

Rays short game is cheeky he had a cracking chip in and hit the flag from a lousy position.
Grumps laser like hitting hit the greens keepers buggy from 200 yards at Dundonald last year after calling the shot.

Sounds like a another good day was had, thanks to this place.

Just can't believe it's taken you nearly 4 years to hook up for a game with thecraw when he's just along the road, Andy. Have you persuaded him to play for Scotland this year? We could do with his services for his country.

Smiffy in white trousers will take some getting use to if you haven't seen them. Mind you Viscount, Rick and Murphs attire aren't alway suitable for migraine sufferers. It is never dull on forum meets

Totally agree Madandra. Since playing in my first forum meet last year at Castle Staurt and Nairn i've had the pleasure of playing on some great tracks and meet some top blokes.

However, my wife still finds it odd when i announce that i'm off to play golf with 3 strangers i've met off the internet! Her final gambit to me when i left for Castle Staurt was "don't say i didn't warn you when you wake up on the banks of the Moray Firth with a 9-iron hanging out your xxxx!!" Thankfully it turned out to be a pitching wedge....

sounds like a canny day.

I had the pleasure of 18 at my track with Brendy, CC07 and his son, was really good craic, and hopefully will get to play more ni chaps this year!

:)

"Hi I'm Andy, I've not hit a ball since October!"

Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooom!!!!!

That square headed thing is a great thing! Guarenteed 250 every time and on the fairway. Then it slips, "ohh, er AYE, in my job I can easily sneak into a driving range here and there".

Great fun today I will admit, Grumps and Mad gave Raymond and I a bit of a doing, 3&2.

Was he doing those hooded 4 irons to 6 feet as well? Very annoying.

No, he tried that with a 7 iron and had a Tiger double cross! :D

However he recovered with Big Lefie inspired flop shop to a foot which was naturally not conceded! :)

The guys I met at dundonald plus today have been great and not a bit of snobbery about playing with a grumpy hacker like myself .

Craw I think you dine Andy an injustice Mate were his drives not 350 plus well it felt like it when I was taking 3 just to get level with him . Roll on machrihanish so many more laughs go be had .
