Been waiting to see what was happening this year regarding a golf game. This was announced last week and it looks like it's going to blow every Tiger Woods game ever made, completely out of the water.

The introduction of a course creator and automatic course generator is going to revolutionize golf games and bring a whole new world of customization to everything. Can't wait to make my home course!!

If only it were that easy in real life to hit them that straight

I tend to play golf games on the hardest difficulty setting which makes hitting a straight shot incredibly difficult, you really need to concentrate on the angles of the control stick and also the tempo at which you swing, in order to hit a good shot. Makes it much more realistic.

Not sure about that to be honest. The swings just don't seems as smooth as tiger woods. Guess its still in the early stages though.

Going up against a game called Perfect Golf, currently waiting on Steam Greenlight that also has a course designer. Maybe I can go back to my old hobby of making courses like I did for TW05, 06 and 07.

I guess PC golf games are like the number 7 bus...

A lot will depend on the pros they can sign up for it to appear in the game. As whilst it may look amazing, I'd say the game will get boring pretty quickly if you are just playing against on line opposition as inevitably it will be some geek who can shoot a eagle on just about every hole.

graphics look good but i can't see it being a big seller though as its a very joe bloggs game, no pro's, no high profile courses (as yet)

reminds me of Links 2001, but i think you could design everything and it wasn't just generated!

Links was always a better game than PGA Golf (as Tiger Woods golf was back then I think). The problem they are going to have is that without and pro golfers involved or the massive EA marketing machine, the target market is going to be limited to golfers as it may lack the general appeal. I have no problem with that and am hoping for a more simulation based approach.

With no EA golf game due until at least 2015 (and no Tiger Woods name on it) at least this will have a free run at the golfing market and I hope it does well. The problem is that EA have all of the licences for most sports so well tied up that nobody can compete with a game that has accurate representations of players, courses etc.

Links was a great game. Loved playing that. The EA ones are a little too easy I reckon. Graphics look great though.

Tis new one looks brilliant, but probably not enough for me to go out and buy a next gen console for it.

I use tiger woods 11 w motionplus on the wii for late night rounds. buy a sim stick. its very realistic. compared to my optishot sim. The dispertion and the swing angle are pretty comparable.

total cost about 50 quid.

They have a cool new handicapping system. I was first given 16 but swiftly got that down to 11. Seem to shoot 82 every round so that should drop a touch too.

Anyone else still playing this?
