I agree it comes to all, I just don’t believe it’s come as quick as some are making out, this is one of the best players the PL has ever seen and there’s no way he’s had such a rapid decline in a few months.

Look at the contract they gave him last year and now he walks on a free, more to it for me.

Did his legs go, or wasn’t he motivated to go the extra mile for Slot?

As Phil has said, other players dropped off too… = manager.

Carrick was staying at the Boro till the end of season review when he was told he needed to change/develop a plan B. Just because Slot was staying 3 weeks ago but is now sacked doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a knee jerk reaction.

Salah acknowledged he wasn’t playing well when he made his outburst earlier in the season, his point at the time was that others were also out of form, but he was the only one dropped.

I think Slot alienated some of the players by changing what they saw as their best way to play.

Iraola let his contract run down then left when it expired.
That is the correct way to do things.
Poor management from the board at Bournemouth to let it get to that situation. 😉😂
He was given a choice to extend his contract in December/January, but he was given a certain time frame to say yes or no, imo he was rushed into a decision; he didn't accept an extension, and as soon as that was announced, AFC Bournemouth didn't mess around finding a new coach, and Rose was probably recommended by Iraloa as well. Rose and Iraloa had a meeting on Monday to have a proper handover, which I liked.

Also, I am feeling like another John Bond scenario is going to happen with Iraola gutting afcb of its players and coaching staff, although it didn't work out too well for John Bond in '74 when Norwich got relegated :sneaky:

What would be your estimate to the value of the players?

Iraola may not get that much to spend unless he moves players on!

Seems like he is a manager that works on short team contracts and then looks to earn extensions in the same way as Beisla did

Signing a 2 year contract with us

Yes but “ you can’t drop me because others are playing crap as well” dosnt go down well imo.

We had choices upfront before Eketikes injury.
But not much cover elsewhere.

I think you’re right about Slot changing things for no apparent reason.
Gomez can play RB but he disrupted the midfield to put Sob in there that was stupid.

Other players were dropped before Mo was - Gakpo , Macca were both dropped and Ekitike was also put on the bench

Dom played right back and actually played well there , same as when we had Gerrard there or Milner there - Gomez just can’t play more than one game a week

Didn’t help with Bradley being out and Frimpong in and out , then Endo went there and got injured

Prob should have given Ramsey a go

I'm not sure, but Bournemouth likes to get some profit from players, and most, if not all, players liked being under Iraola, and most players look forward to stepping up to a bigger club after being at Bournemouth for a season.

I hate the off-season, it's just rumour after rumour after rumour of our best players being linked to all these clubs. Contracts don't mean anything these days. Last season, the day Semenyo signed an extention i got Semenyo on the back of my shirt, and 6 months later, he went to Man City

You don’t take the best player out of a struggling midfield to play RB.
That was a big mistake even if he does play well there.
Your just weakening the middle it was stupid.

Doms impact in the middle was blown up because of his free kicks and goals

Some of his best performances last season where at right back

When he plays in the middle he is one the biggest reasons why it all slows down , he was highest for the most amount of passes backwards , he gave the ball away more than any other midfielder and the two people he passed to the most - VVD and Konate

When you watch him play he has a lot of opportunities to switch the play and play the diagonal ball to the wider areas and he doesn’t take it , he goes backwards

He hit some great free kicks that over shadowed his ball progression in the middle

Sounds like TAA and Robertson

That’s because he had most of the ball.
Also there was nothing in front of him most of the season the movement was woeful.

Gravenberch and Macallister gave the ball away most not Dom.

There was plenty in front of him he just doesn’t have that in his game to be switching the play , he had pace and power and running with the ball but he can’t dictate the pace of the game , it’s why we need someone like Wharton
