So today is where the fear sets in , last week I shot 77 a pb what makes it more astonishing it started with topping off the first ending in a triple bogey , now can I replicate this form , all the work I've done on my short game and putting was it a flash in the pan have I really improved about 5-7 shots over the winter

Should be excited but I'm scared , how the hell do you deal with these emotions

With a similar handicap to you we are both in the same place.

In recent weeks I've. Shot 77/78/79 and went to Sundays medal full of faith!

Gross 88, couldn't hit a ball for toffee and literally forgot all my winter work up to 12th, walking off 12th I'm 16 over then my brain kick it and I come in level par for the rest of the round!

Stick to you pre shot routine, take each shot as it comes and DONT expect anything!

Ha ha - my exact feelings - Was at the range last night and changed something for the last few shots, trying to stay more solid throughout the swing - made a big difference - about to go to hit some balls again and no idea if it will still work

Good luck this weekend

I've got my first comp at new club today as well

Going to go out and enjoy it as last couple years at previous club I didn't and got so tangled up with myself

Enjoy and good luck :)

I'm trying not to have any expectations. Despite my best efforts I'm a glass half empty type of guy by nature and so usually have very little expectation in comps especially given the poor 2013. If I get a good score then it's a pleasant surprise. Buffer zone is fine and if its a howler then I kid of feel I was expecting it and so don't beat myself up. Not sure its ideal. I just turn up and play and the scores will be what it will be
