How mind bogglingly furious do these make you.

Had 3 from todays round.

Most memorable being a 7 iron from 159yrds, perfect distance for a solid 7. It flew the green by 5yrd, a good 185yrd, which is just all sorts of wrong. Caused a triple bogey with thanks to catching the slope on the back of the green and sodding off into the rough behind our 1st. :xbox:

I not really sure how to guard from them too, you can sort of tell if it's likely to jump on you, but when they happen it just leaves you perplexed.

Indeed, can be difficult to tell when it's going to happen, but if it's likely and there's more danger over the back than at the front, then it's worth going down a club imo.

Btw. It was still YOU that hit it that distance! Golf doesn't excuse you (it actually tends to punish you, as in this case) for not considering everything that might happen!

Annoying as they are if I think there's a chance I will club down at least one and in some cases 2 .

True, but at this time of year it's holding the fairway with run out from drivers/woods thats caused this issue for me today.

I feel that pain. 4 times today drove lovely and straight off the tee only to watch it keep running and only stop when it hit the primary cut. Its a sore one to take, feels like a good drive punished.

They are annoying but what can you do? You don't know until that moment after impact that it's coming out hot.
