This season I've switched from my trusty Cleveland draw driver to an Adams Super S, which hits the ball 20 meters further.....oh yes indeed! But, I noticed my swing is not consistant, and I hovver the driver next to the ball on the tee. I've been experimenting with setting the club on the ground before taking the clubs back. Thing is, with doing this, I can get the club right under the ball sometimes, and it means I'm even less consistant. So yesterday at the end of a frustrating knock round using my Cleveland I tried putting a smaller castle tee (white instead of pink) down on the 18th and hit a few balls. Much straighter drives ensued.
Now what to do??? Big major comp on Sunday. Do I go with this, the whites and club on the ground or just go with the hovver and pinks? (I will not be able to go for another game before Sunday)

Well, I am sure you'll find space in your pockets for both white and pink tees. As far as I know there is no rule that forbids change of tee height between holes. So why don't you just go with the whites on the first few holes and if any trouble comes from that, you revert back to the pink ones. (Or, if that works better for you, start with the pink ones and if you encounter inconsistency, scale down to the whites).

I did the same thing last week, changing from my usual pink tees to the longer silver ones for a few holes, because I was hitting draws that day (nice, but unexpected) which tended to come out a bit low and could well do with the extra height. When the draw evaporated later on the round and I was starting to hit the ball too high and spinny with the long tees, I just went back to what I knew with the pink ones. Worked out pretty well overall.

Mate made the same change (pink to white) best bit was I lucked into two bags of pink castle's he doesn't need now, happy days :whoo:

(let me know if you switch and I'll give my address)

Ooops I forgot to check back in here, (there was an important footie match on). So...I went with the white tees all the way round. Much more consistent use of the driver.

PS Can you get fitted for tees?.........

I've got some pink tees for sale too. Can sell as singles.

I've been caught out before with fake/imitation pink castles, (paypal were no help) You got a history on these bad boys or will the price reflect the risk?
(cautious this time round as the last seller was also doing singles and I got stung for seven that I cant move on now!)

You've got me worried now. The tee are different shade of pink. How do I know which are the fake ones? Can you post a picture of a real one so I can compare?

See this is the kind of stuff that worries me

Some fly-by-night, jack-the-lad, ex-dragons den applicant sets up a sweat shop in Paisley or Mansfield and within weeks they're knocking out 3-4 fake tees a day
In no time at all a workforce of a couple hundred can fill a pack with 20 of these things inside a week and its only a matter of time before some poor unsuspecting pro has them on the shelf

I once saw a pro shop filled with these:

The guy was near tears when I pointed out his error!
