My question would be has the driver got a sweet spot?

Following on from a thread recently about a pured iron I believe yesterday I pured my driver.

It was the first time ever since taking up golf I can safely say it was such a good strike I hardly felt it.

The result was a drive over 30 yards longer than I have ever hit it on the same hole.

Also I might have found a little technique that has transformed my driving only a little more time and a couple of rounds and I might divulge.

mine doesn't, well not when i hit it. though a friend of mine that is a trainee pro that hits it miles finds it everytime he has a shot with it

Playing in the mid week last Wednesday I smashed a drive, and it made a lovely noise and there wasn't much in the way of feedback running through my hands and it flew high and long....that may have been the sweet spot....next hole hit it back out of the toe again!

I was told by a club fitter the sweet spot on a driver is the size of a pln head, not certain it's true but it would explain I don't find it every time.

Of course it has, otherwise why would Ping have the G series ??

Yesterday I hit 2 drives which felt very strange at the time- so much so I turned to my PP after they said nice shot and said "it didn't feel right"... walked up and both were easily my best drives of the day.... so that's what that feels like!
