The conundrum that is Parcel force and the Royal Mail

I have been eagerly awaiting 2 of my new purchases, Mizuno MP32s and a Titleist 909 F3 3 wood. (Thanks Andy).

Although both sellers have more than done their part it is a serious cock-up at the Glasgow post office that has left me without either of my parcels. The hilariously ironic thing is that both packages had been sent via 48 hour delivery. With the Mizzys being accepted at the Post Office on the 13th November and the 3 Wood being accepted on the 15th November. And yet here I am waiting.

Damn you ParcelForce. And Damn you Royal Mail.

And a big Damn you to the Glasgow Post Office.

I had the same issue earlier in the year. Its the point between the 2, if RM still have it then PF wont have it on their system, RM dont track items so its a catch 22.

I think it took 12 days total for a 48hr parcel to turn up but only after we had informed PF of claiming for a lost item! (I think it turned up 48hrs or so later, ironic eh)

Dont think Saturday's count on PF 48 hr so earliest for 3 wood have been sometime today n that's up to 5.30.
Don't always trust sellers timings because they can post at 5.10 and it may as well be 4.55 next day 5pm cut off at most PO.

The bottom line is Royal Mail and Parcel Force suck. 99% sure the comment about RM/PF only counting Mon-Fri is correct. As a courier myself I can tell you that in the last year my company has had a large influx of customers due to RM/PF's bad service.

In the future it's definitely worth paying the extra for a proper courier. For instance, (won't name them but...) the company I work for give you an hour-long window in the day in which your parcel will arrive. Let Royal Mail stick to carrying envelopes.

I have few options other than to use RM/PF. Working some way away from home, with no-one there to receive deliveries, an hour's window is about as much use to me as a chocolate frog (and I don't like chocolate!). I rely on them dropping stuff off at the local parcel office which few if any couriers will do. Invariably anything coming from a courier ends up at their depot, which round here is the backside of P'boro and a 50 mile round trip. PF also have a depot out there - don't know what the attraction is in the fens.
