A bit late as i played it over a week ago but here go's.

Welcome - when we got there we were told where the practice green was and first tee was and in a friendly (non ignorant way).

Practice facilities - 3 big nets to hit into and 1 big putting/chipping green with deepish bunker.

The course - The tees were in superb nick and where giving the choice to play off whatever tees we wanted to (white). The fairways were in a reasonable state but you could noticed where new drainage was put in (told about this before play). The greens were slow but quite smooth, not the greatest to be honest but nothing we could really do.

All in all a good day out helped with good friendly banter and a bit of competition. For £45 i thought it was a good, fair challenge but i wouldnt have paid the £120+ they were asking. Sorry this dragged on a bit but im sure ive covered everything.

Hi Owen

Pleased you enjoyed you trip to the Carrick, I do a little bit of caddying at the course when required, so was interested in your comments.

With regards to the practice nets, were you not told about the driving range & practice green over by the third tee. The drainage work on the course is a neccesity due to devere trying to cut costs when building the course.

With regards to the price, your right its not worth £125 and i dont know how they can look you in the eye when taking your money. The only reason I can think of is the scenery and the mention of Loch Lomond.

We werent told about the range as we were a bit late due to the nice Glasgow traffic  but the putting/chipping green was good enough, for a quick warm up ;).

The starter did warn us about the drainage work but most of it was at the start of the fairways so didnt really come into play :).

I would never pay that much, only if it was Augusta or somewhere played frequently on the PGA Tour or something.

Thats my honest thoughts. Would i go again?? Yes, if we got on at a cheap price again and if i was with a good group of people :)
