Just read this months GM and noticed The Carrick are doing a 4 ball for £199 with coffee and a roll sound not bad but what condition will it be in at this time of the year ,anyone know?

Steve, TBH, I would do Dundonald again before I did the Carrick. Its a big big let down of a course. A couple of great holes, loads of mediocre and a couple of downright [****] holes.

If your wnating to get a number of courses then the Carrick is ok but now a patch on Dundonald, I would agree with the craw, I think The carrick is carried alot by it association with loch lomond. Still some great holes on it but Dundonald would get my vote if I had to pay. I got a free round the Carrick earlier this year and must have found about 15 balls in the rough, also lost abot 12, so it is pretty tough for a hacker like mr

One of the boys played it a few weeks ago Steve and commented is was like a sponge. He also got it for £30 a round but not sure if this deal is still available.

Alan its a great course you guys will enjoy it , it hardly gets played and its a qualifier for The Open when at Carnoustie. The first 2 holes kind of spoil it a short par 4 and a shortish par 5 then it gets really good , it will be well worth the trip mate.
The clubhouse is the old fashioned type ,the last bastion of the British Empire (gin palace) you used to have to wear a shirt and tie in the lounge ,well the alst time i played there you did. Hope this helps

Panmure is a fine golf course. Played there 3 years ago whilst on a golf trip that also included Carnoustie Championship, Monifieth and Montrose.

Everyone on the trip thought that Panmure was the pick of the courses, Carnoustie was too tough for us mere mortals.
