im booked to play the carrick on the 9th of september. Has anyone played here this year? looking for opinions i have heard mixed reviews.

What DMC said. I played in May and i was really disappointed with the condition of the course. 5 fairways were GUR, as were 8 bunkers.
It will be a fantastic course when the drainage has improved. Don't get me wrong, there are some fantastic holes but i left a bit let down by the whole experience.

First hole is the best on the course in my opinion. It makes you think that your in for a treat, it disapoints from the 2nd onwards to be honest. Some nice holes but many mediocre holes as well.
I'd cancel and take up one of the offers at either Dundonald, £50 for unlimited golf or Glasgow Gailes for £40 per round. If you feel like being adventurous and fancy a drive Machrihanish Dunes are doing twilight golf for £25 a round after 1500 hours.
