The Brownlees.

What Alistair did any brother would have but theres a bigger picture.

Twice now Johnny has messed up in big races and both were down to the wrong tactics.

He could and should have waited and paced it better, and as I understand it he had others around the course feeding him information as to where Mola was.

He also did it against Gomez in the worlds.

He is a tactical numpty and as an elite athlete should have known better.

Alistair said this afterwards but probably should have mentioned it during the race, however Johnny messed up.

Still awesome. Brilliant from both brothers for different reasons. How proud must their parents be and how wonderfully down to earth they are. Great role models.

Tosh !
He is one the 2 or 3 best sportsmen that sport has ever seen, he is a winner. He knows what it takes to win and does it. Occasionally it goes wrong, but that's what real winners do - they take the risks to win rather than sit in the pack

It's what sport is really about ........................... or should be, anyway.
Heartwarming and totally brilliant.
Utter admiration and respect for both of them.

That's funny even his brother has called him a tactical numpty for those two races if you bother to listen to the interviews of both races.

I'm not disputing there ability that's beyond doubt but sometimes you need to think as well.

No difference to the numptys that's race in heats of events when its 4,5 or 6 to go through but feel the need to race then mess up the final because they are knackered.

If you understand the sport Johnny didn't need to take any risks he had the race and title sewn up but blew it with a bad decision.

I don't think anyone is disputing what Alistair did was admirable.
