Tour Winner
i've sat back and read a few posts about the brabazon (good and bad) so here's mine.
got the round as a perk for being a belfry PGA memeber. as we got there we met the starter. he was was a nice bloke and greated us with a warm smile and a free goodie bag.
as we stood on the first tee you cant help but think of the ledgends that have stood there before you. the first whole IMO is a stunner. the course as a whole was in excellent condition, the fairways where firm, fully grassed and green, the bunkers contained good fluffy sand (not jewsons special sharp sand) and the greens where the best, truest and fastest i've ever played.
the course is harder than i thought and only took a driver on 3 holes. i do think they could cut the rough a little shorter. i lost two balls on the fringe of the green somewhere (it was that thick) but on the other hand it was good to see what the pro's are faced with on tour.
do i think its good enough for a ryder cup and tour events? yes. would i pay £160 for a round? no, i would expect more for that money but i would part with £70
over all it was a great day. the course, staff and weather couldn't have been better. the brabazon is a must play IMO
