Having just landed back from the a local Nevada Bobs, with some cracking deals on a Fly-Z driver and some SM5 vokeys, I had a thought for a thread.

Chatting with the sales guy we said how new is not always the best, and it got me thinking. What is the best equipment you have ever owned. From shoes, shirts, caps to bags, putters and drivers.

Not necessarily something you would put in your bag now, but when you think back it gives you a smile and makes you think, damn I loved that. Maybe shoes that eventually fell apart, or a set of irons you loved but felt weren't aesthetically up to scratch?

Ping G5 driver, could still be playing it now

Cobra AMP Forged Irons - Hideous orange on the back but great irons I probably shouldn't have changed

A Titleist 907 D2 Driver with a Aldila VS Proto Shaft.
Still in the bag since 2007.

Also my MP53 Irons, I keep trying others but Nothing Feels Like A Mizuno.

Original Nike pro combos.

Bought a set when I finally took the game half seriously and got a handicap. Got me down to singles and I regularly put them back in the bag when I am struggling with my iron striking. The bladed short irons is the reason I bought further sets of blades this last few years.

So good I bought two sets.

Taylormade Burner 5 wood that is still in my bag. Real fairway finder.

Old Tour Burner driver, used to bomb that thing everywhere.
Had a 64 degree masters wedge, got me out of countless bad shots!

Also had an old Wilson Staff bag that I adored, one of the nicest looking stand bags ever but someone broke into my locker and took everything!

Taylormade Rescue - great club, impossible to hit badly, don't know why I got rid of it.

From the past, Ive owned a Bushnell since 1999, won't do without. Rexstar golf balls, Footjoy Classics.
Right now it would be the DST Compressor iron.

My Adams Pro 2 Hybrid

Yes i can hook it, but no where near like i do with EVERY single hybrid i have ever hit. Properly easy to hit and goes silly (SILLY) distances.

Actually flogging my 3 and 4 DHY's and am on the hunt for a 3 hybrid as we speak

and i have to say that i feel nothing but love for my DST Compressor. Its teaching me things that my pro has struggled to do.

Special mention to my sprung loaded pitch repairer

Feel naked if i forget it and nothing quite beats the "flick" of the spring when you approach your ball ready to fix the green.

I feel as good as a Teddy boy with new haircut and a flick comb

my Dunlop driver from way back in the 70`s ,this was back when Dunlop were a market leader in golf clubs and made some really good stuff.
i think it was a Roberto di Vicenzo model, one inch loger than standard length as it was our pro`s club before i bought it. the head looked huge back then but its tiny when i look at it now ,smaller than a 3 wood.

Original Great Big Bertha driver from '97 - the word "Awesome" springs to mind
Also a set of TopFlite Tour irons from the same era - don't laugh, TopFlite made proper clubs back then and these were used by the likes of Ronan Rafferty and Peter Baker(look 'em up if you don't know) - won many a comp with these and they got me down to single figures.

I probably should add my Titleist 909 driver with Gaphite Design shaft that Crow now bags.

Good Call Alex, thanks again!

I too get particular pleasure out of using my pitch repairer, mines an Odyssey model. :D

My Odyseey putter. Had it about 10 years now, and it will be here a good while yet. Clubs are changed far too often, e.g. I'm on my third set of irons in two years. And then it's FJ Contours with Boa lacing. I'm on my 4 th pair.

Many many years ago I had a pair of classic footjoy's that were black and white brogues, they didnt do anything special they were just a longtime favorite and like slippers to wear. I thought I still had them in a box in the loft but after searching and searching I think I must have thrown them away :( Nothing on the market like them anymore but were similar to the icons. I remember paying £55 for them back in 1990.

Current day: Ive been practicing like a wild thing with my new limited red TM spider putter and getting on very well with it so far.
