Following on from my earlier post about booking a lesson after my torrid driving exhibition last night, a call got me booked for 2pm earlier today.

So, brief warm up with a 7iron, and a few shots which werent bad at all.
Set up good, alignment good, grip good, all good,......but just try and pull your hips back a smidge he says first, which will give you more room.

Ok, seems easy enough....and flt ok too.

Pointed out that my left wrist was tending to cup more than it should rather than cocking horizontally (?), which was tending to close the face slightly, so I'm now reminded of what it should be doing....

And then, the biggie,.....it seems I was tending to slide my hips thru on the downswing, rather than turning them to allow everything to clear as my hands/arms came thru at impact.

Eventually, after 40mins, and after I bombed one down virtually perfectly, he said 'well I think thats enough for now'. :D

Definitely the best £15 I have spent in yonks, and for those of you that dont have lessons, as I havent for as long as I can recall, do yourself a favour and find a local Pro who knows what they are doing. :D :D

This lesson wont be the last for me I can tell you, if I am ever to get to that elusive Single Figure status, this is the year, and lessons can only help.

Its like anything in life. You can only go so far on your own talent and sooner or later whatever you do you'll need input from someone else. If its good enough for Woods et al to have coaching why not get a professional to look at your game and help you improve. We all want to play to our potential and if a professional lesson will help go for it is my advice.

I had a lesson recently and found it really helped! All the main basics were ok, but its the small things, that the trained eye of a good pro notices, that make all the difference! I'm playing better for it and I'll be having another one soon! What interested me was that the pro said not to come back too soon...get what I've told you so far grooved and then come back!

Well if the lesson has worked, and your happy thats good. But changing three things in a 1/2 hour lesson (40 min) seems a bit excessive.

You're on......!!!

Sleeve of 3 ProV's to the Victor ?

If you do it, I'll post you some vintage champagne!

Done.....

(Now, when's my next lesson, and what about my irons :D)

Good luck......
