Is to have to re-register with your Doctor....😠

Haven't needed a GP for nearly 11 years.
I've had a problem with a knuckle on my right hand for a number of weeks now and, as I had a spare morning I dropped in tongue Doc's on the way home from dropping The Boy at school.

Didnt expect an appointment today but didn't expect to be told I'm no longer registered as a patient..
I have to fill in miles worth of forms and produce all sorts of documents in order to re-register - because I've been healthy..
No appointments available until..........May...💩

And the stupidest bit......?

They've registered me as a Temporary patient and I've got an appointment at 4 this afternoon.....

At the moment I seem to have my own seat in the waiting room. Constant tests, appointments and consultations. Hoping to get a prognosis and a plan of action imminently. What annoys me most is watching the ticker on the wall go by saying in March 178 appointments were missed. No wonder you can never get an appointment, especially at a time to suit. Hope the knuckle wasn't damaged beating Frag into golfing submission

Looking at it another way.
Poor you, I know a few folk who would have been happy to fill in a few forms in exchange for 11 years of good health.

I had not see my GP for six years and they knew I was just in for a general health check.
First question was....how has your health been lately.
I said, check my file. [with a disarming smile]

Surely you can be sorted via the Trust's Occy Health dept? Maybe things have changed since I worked there but if it wasn't a common cold, Occy Health would fast track you.

Homer that sounds like Missis T, ave told her an alien abductee has never been probed that much and she has three more appointments. 👍😁

It still still seems odd now I have retired doing normal Joe public things. Taking Missis T to the hospital and Drs over the last six weeks. One cannot help but notice that This country has a massive problem with people and weight issues just around the corner.
The benefit of being healthy, can see this being a lengthy blog.

Had ameeting with OH but they are primarily there to protect me and the Trust's concerns in the workplace and not keen on getting involved with hurrying appointments, sorting out results and insist this is between the GP and the specialists at the hospital as far as diagnosis and treatment is concerned. As long as OH and I can prove to HR I am fit to work then that'e their lot

Things have definitely changed. It used to be the case of keeping people fit and in work saved the Trust money. Also, as you were onsite, you're handy for filling cancelled appointments.

Hobbit, Missis T works for a trust, there are three in her team and it was dropped out two weeks before she dropped out that one of her team made the trust 9k in a month with the other two not far behind. She has been off four- five weeks. So Missis T aside how much has the trust lost in £££££s.
One of her consultants who she has worked with for years was going to put in a word, like he said he would last time she was off with an eye virus. He has said nowt. Her " manager" has not even rung to see how she is. I hope to god I pick up the phone if she does ring. I have told her these heartless people mean nothing to me even though they are her work colleagues. Unfortunately they do not give a toss. Her pals have been fantastic, but it seems to me that a profession that is employed in caring for Joe public is missing a link in the chain when it comes to looking after its own.
