Just after some info on the belfry, staying there this weekend and playing the brabazon and the Derby . Haven't played there for a good few years and was wondering how the changes they have made have improved it.Was hoping the good weather might have held for the weekend but never mind should be a good weekend. The place was looking like it had seen better days last time I stayed there...if the golfs bad at least bel airs still going to help you forget about the golf.any info would be appreciated. Thanks

The place is looking a lot better these days and I took a mate from work recently who had played it in the past and wasn't impressed with the course conditions but said it had improved loads from when he played it. I'd try and upgrade to the PGA though as the Derby is slow on the weekend due to 8 min tee times which have been introduced recently. Brab will be fine though along with the PGA if you upgrade.

Hope you enjoy it

Thanks for the info....the lad who's organised it and was going to uograde to the pga....depending on what time we fall out of bel air :-)

i was there last year and though all facilities were very good. i think it's common for people to complain about the Belfry because of its Ryder Cup history they expect Augusta and it can't meet those expectations.

i'd definitely second getting an upgrade from the Derby. i had a brutally slow experience round there behind people in footy shorts with zero awareness of etiquette. I hope I never play the Derby again.

All the courses are in great nick. However, this £100 deal has got all 3 courses stitched up. Its a 5.5 hour round on the brab at the moment. The hotel is under major construction at the moment as part as a 35 million pound re-vamp. So expect a little disruption (hence the £100 offer)

Oh and i'd pay the upgrade from the derby to the pga too. £20 I think

Thanks for the advice....I'd prefer the pga to the derby, but will have to see what happens.i thought the pga was a tougher course than the brabazon last time I played it.should be interesting if this wind keeps up.

Cannot understand why anyone would prefer a barren, featureless (apart from the pylons) trudge like the PGA to a well defined, varied (but not great) course such as the Brabazon.
