The Belfry

Me and Jacetheace are having a game on Friday this week after the Beau Desert meet. We have been looking at the other courses in the area and we'd pretty much settled at Wittington Heath. Then Jason mentionned 'The Belfry isn't far away' and now were leaning towards taking a slight detour on the way home and playing the PGA national course.
Has anyone played here? is it worth me getting all excited over? Oh and what are my chances of getting a tee at short notice?

Great course however I think it is only 2-fore-1 on Mon-Thurs…

However, not bad at £70 which is what I think it is, correct me if i'm wrong!

You should get a mid week tee time, however it will be busy.

I can't comment on green condition etc. because when I played it they had hollow-tinned the greens and they had frozen over night too, so not great, but not their fault either.

The only criticism I would have is that the 1st and 18th are rubbish. Holes that could be anywhere…

But, well worth a visit if you haven been!

ive played there,starts off ok but the course tightens up a bit,fairways not very wide and rough was penal very enjoyable though cant wait to try the brabazon next.

That's decided it then, (aswell as what Smiffy said) Whittington Heath it is then. I can't afford £70 unfortunately so the Belfry will have to wait.

Nothing more than an average course. You're not missing much & definitely not worth £70.

Very average course in my opinion mate.... if I was that neck of the woods i'd play the Forest of Arden everytime. Its only about 10 miles away from the Belfrey and is absolutely stunning

I couldn't agree more.

The Belfry PGA course is not worth the trip (neither is the Brabazon in my opinion though!). Little Aston is excellent.

You could also try Wormley - it's not bad.

I played WH last year in the GM meeting and it is a nice place as well as a good course, tidy but not snobby

It's surprising how much £70.00 can get you, too late for this year but this link has gone into my fav's for next year
