Wow! What an 800m final.... just watched it on BBC website as I missed it earlier.... that is some SERIOUS running. to set a WR in the 800m is amazing as it's somewhat a tactical race, well it used to be!

The guy who came 2nd was pretty impressive all things considered. Don't remember it being like this when Coe/Ovett used to run it.

I watched it live James, and it certainly was exceptional running! All the runners behind Rudisha had their best times this year. And our Brit ran a PB of 1.43.77 and came last!!

Quite clearly the best 800m final I've ever seen and a shame as all the papers will be talking about Usain Bolt in the morning and Rudisha will hardly get a mention.

It's been pretty much a sprint for quite a while now.

There have even been some, well at least 1, amazing 1500m 'sprint' - and I was there!

Is that the first Athletics World Record?

I was there on "super saturday" and the only thing missing was that there were no world records. On what was classed as a fast track I just wonder if the lack of records has anything to do with the sport being much cleaner now and therefore a true test of the athlete.

Last nights 200 and 800 were breathtaking and whilst I wouldn't have swapped the tickets I had for last night, the hairs prickled on the back of my kneck thinking that the noise in the stadium would have been anything like when Mo came round the final bend on Saturday!

Will live with me forever!
