I think it looked bigger than a 4 iron but even still - even if it was a 2 iron.....287yds!!!!

Now in serious mode, mental!! now i think i hit a decent ball and get decent distances, but i still cant get over how far the pro's hit the ball. not just driving, like the OP, long irons are simply crazy. well not even long irons! you see 180 yard easy 7 irons etc! it just goes to show how far ahead the pro's really are!

At Castle Stuart this year i watched him carry his 2 iron over 300 yards on the 12th, he's a tallish guy, so long leavers and plenty of power too.

No, it's late twenties but regardless, that is still a stupid long way to hit a 4 iron.

High 20s and low humidity I'd guess.

Watching with great anticipation as we're off out there in March for 10 days - staying with my cousin in his apartment a forum distance stones throw from the Emirates (or so he tells me). Mid March - mid-20s daytime average.

It was yesterday in the first round Stenson and Rose. Rose hit his driver out to 330yds I think the commentator said, Stenson took his 3 wood and knocked it level.
