Does anybody else sense this when playing well, you get this strange feeling that everything seems to be going your way and you cannot miss !

Its not easy to put into words but you just know after a few shots that today is your day !

Played Saturday and for the first 9 holes i had this feeling, 22 points my best score ( 43 strokes ) and i felt like a golf god.

Sadly the feeling ebbed away as the back nine started to remind me how it can quickly change

Final score was only 36 points but i felt like i played with more conviction attacking and playing with more focus

I guess a bit of luck too helped too !!

Do you guys get this weird sensation / feeling when you just know it could be your day ??

Had that feeling a few times.

Makes up for a few of the times where the feeling is completely the opposite!

Get a mini version of both the above when putting - sometimes cannot miss, other times not a clue!

I often get that feeling for stretches of holes, maybe 4, 5 or 6 and then it dissappears not to return or weeks. It's fun while it lasts though

I've had that feeling twice recently and it's great. If I could take whatever it was that was in my head on those days and tap into it at will, I'd be happy (and I'd be off less than 12) :)

Yesterday, however, I had a very different feeling. I had this unsettling feeling that the round was on a knife-edge - it was one birdie away from taking off or or one disaster away from completely crumbling.

I ended up getting 0.1 back so you can imagine which of the above came to pass...

Only ever had it for 9 holes. Scored a 38 and had countless birdie chances. Driving - class, Iron play - the mutts nuts. Didn't need wedges, I wasn't missing greens! Putter was on fire too. That was after a 50 (+14 over par) on the front 9. 28 handicapper golf to single figure standard in no time at all. Unreal.

That was July last year - not got anywhere near feeling like that since.

I believe they call it 'the zone' and once you get the slightest feeling you're 'in' it, you're actually on your way 'out' of it.

I had the feeling yesterday that I was hitting the ball well but could not score any worse if I tried, good fortune must come my way soon, surely ?

Yes, I think that it's a common one.

Wednesday in a stableford comp, I started 1 point, 1 point, zero, zero, and amassed a princely 12 points. The back nine started with a bogie and finished with a double bogie and I shot 21 points in the middle 7 holes. Finished with 34 points and in the buffer and in 3rd place in the comp!

I love playing golf when you're in that 'feeling' zone. Had it a few times this year, most recently in the GM northeast meet at Slaley Hall. 18pts going out, inc a couple of blobs, and 19 coming back in, inc a 1 pointer. Doesn't sound fabulous but the course was very wet, and playing long. 76 gross on a strange, wet, long course... apart from 2 drives I just couldn't miss the fairway.
