Recently played a round with a friend! Everything I hit off the tee flew straight, I pitched well, putted well, everything seemed to be going well, and I hit a very satisfying 82, par72, which I was very proud of!

Two weeks later, I play the same course, with my old man, and it all goes pear shaped!

Does anybody know how to get round this catastrophe, and how to correct my mistakes!? Cheers! :D

Just try and stay positive, sometimes our game can crumble for no reason, even though we've been playing consistently for weeks leading up to it.
I've had weeks of shooting scores around level par leading up to big comps, only to shoot 80 plus on the day,and yet i've done everything exactly the same as i have when shooting low scores.
Sometimes taking a few days away from the game can help.
All the best.

Welcome to golf. I've shot a decent under handicap score on a Saturday and played on a Sunday and used my handicap allowance before the turn. If we were all that consistant all the time we'd a) be off lower handicaps and b) win a lot more comps
