I sold my two Mizzie hybrids on here and after using royal mail but finding them getting expensive I had started using Hermes. Well it figures doesn't it. One was sent to Belfast and it never arrived. I called Hermes who said they had delivered it. I got back on to them and told them the buyer had not received it nor had a card put through. I told them it was a golf club in a long cardboard box. Oh! they lady said, the courier Hermes had used said they delivered something but not a golf club. Blatent lies!! So some Irish courier is knocking my Mizzie around somewhere whilst I'm out of pocket as I have had to refund the buyer and am only getting the basic insurance back. Hermes can take a long walk off a short plank from now on. I'm just warning everyone that things can and indeed do go wrong so make sure you are adequately covered when posting clubs or you could end up like me. I know I'm going to get the they were ok with me brigade but just be aware that's all. I cannot swear on here but I hope you can fill in the blanks about how I feel about Hermes. ........ ........ ......... ............

I bought 2 dozen Z Stars last year from a PGA professional via e-bay. The balls never arrived. The courrier was Hermes also. I was refunded my payment but the pro was obviously out of pocket.

NO it is all my fault....yes I know it's all my fault that idiots cannot do a simple thing like keep their promise to do what they are in business to do. Deliver things. I'm a knob clearly.

it gets worse if you read the small print on myhermes if you send stuff marked as fragile

Like you say, take some satisfaction that someone less fortunate than you now has a chance of lowering their handicap faster due to your generosity and is playing with an otherwise unaffordable Mizzie hybrid.

You'll sleep easy tonight knowing you've helped someone out.

Having had the same issues with Royal Mail a couple of times I feel your pain mate. Knowing that some thieving git is running around with your gear makes it even worse.

To all the people who say you should have paid extra for this and that, can I ask you this, does your boss or company pay you extra to do your job right or take insurance out on you in case you dont? No, didnt think so.

The OP paid for a service which wasnt carried out and is now through no fault of his own out of pocket. Its a sad state that we are expected to pay extra just to make sure we get the job done

You really are all a set of wonderfull people on here aren't you. I can only hope one day I have the pleasure of saying something similar to all the one's that have found this funny. Although I'd like to think I'd be more on the side of whoever has had the misfortune I have had.

I have used Hermes around 15 times this year (via parcel2go.com) and have had no problems at all with them.

They have all arrived on time, every time. No complaints from ebay buyers either.

Oh- and their insurance premiums are very cheap. Maybe worth considering next time......

Geez guys, no need to kick a guy when hes down. Personally not feeling overly confident my Scotty is going to get back to St Ives that I sent with myhermes the other day now too :(

Extra insurance is a CON. You have paid for a service which the courier failed to provide, I would go to a small claims court and get my money back.

I'm sure you could claim against a misrepresentation of service, Hermes offered to deliver your goods at a set price then failed to do so, I don't understand why you need to insure against not getting what you paid for.

I used parceltogo to send an rbz 3 wood and r11 5 wood last week as parcel force are now more expensive and have had lengthy delivery times, both items arrived next day and I was able to track from the minute the left our factory, I chose to add an extra £1.50 to the cost so the items were covered for full value, a sad state where you have to take out extr insurance so as to help somebody do there job but a necessity these days I'm afraid.
Can have some sympathy that they've not delivered your parcels as promised but the terms of compo are clear so much like car insurance excess the level of cover is your choice.
Hopefully they'll turn up in a day of 2 sat in the warehouse.

I think your being a wee bit over sensitive to be honest.

You precluded anyone coming back with "...well I've used them X times and never had a problem" so i'm not sure what you wanted people to say, other than did you tick the signature and insurance boxes.

I was genuinely interested in your experience with them as I've used them a lot (probably well over 150 times) and have just had my first problem with a delivery. My initial question around whether you had ticked those extra boxes was to find out if they were still refusing to help you/pay out IF YOU HAD, because then I would have to think twice about using them again.

Their service is even more important given the recent Royal Mail price increases.
