As per title, I played at Richards home track Cuddington GC this afternoon with the broken man himself Fish. As you drive into the car park a great looking building greets you, the club house. Having ordered a drink I sat outside and what a great view from the terrace. Looking down the 1st and a raised view of the uphill 18th and the green and the distant London/Surrey skyline, you could easily lose yourself for a couple of hours. Once I met Robin and Richard it was time for the carvery. Very nice food at a reasonable price set us up Nicely for our round. Stakes were decided on £3 front, £3 back and £4 overall. What a lovely course to idle away a few hours. Millionaires golf. Fish had better get a bucket and spade as he saved the green staff having to rake at least 10 bunkers tomorrow. My driver behaved on most of the holes although I did have to play up the wrong fairway on 17 but with guidance from the host I managed to walk off with a par and that killed the match. A whitewash for me, winning the full house. Thanks for a great afternoon Richard and Robin

Gutted I couldn't be there gents.if the weather was half as good as I had here in Kent then you had a cracking day.

On the the plus side, my daughter is now a capable nail painter. On the down side, she perfected said skill on me!!

Chris, i still owe you a beer or two.

Glad you enjoyed it mate, it is rather nice isn't it? :) You know where I am if you fancy it again, it's especially lovely when the leaves are turning in Autumn.

Sadly I too had to turn down an invite! However being a Chelsea fan, far better company, and a better golfer, I would've hoped to have been higher up the list than Murph........😉😂😂😂 (only kidding Chris!!)

For those who have not played Cuddington it's a class act from start to finish 👍

Don't feel too bad about being so far down the list, the majority of us weren't even considered:whistle::whistle:

Gutted I couldn't make as I had a family get together plus I needed to pack for my holiday.
even more gutted that the family do got cancelled and mrs dando packed for me!!!!

Indeed, thanks to Richard for hosting at his very nice and superbly presented, Cuddington Golf Club.

Sitting on the grass patio area having a pre-round drink whilst overlooking the 18th green with the 1st tee just to it's left, is a view and image to take away with you.

The 1st tee is a little daunting, more so off the whites which we played off as anything left is a gonna, so I suitably reloaded and played 3 off the tee

Hence to say I didn't score on the first hole and with the stakes so high, both financially and the bragging rights, I had to put that behind me and knuckle down quickly.

Another par 5 immediately followed and a nice par on it pulled me a lost shot back, I bogeyed the 3rd but then a great birdie on the first of some great par 3's for 4 points put me well back in the driving seat :D

Other than the 6th which was a tough 449 yard par 4 (si13) into wind and uphill which I didn't score on and made a complete hash of knobbing it off the tee, I got to the turn with 16 points (same as BIM) with not scoring on 2 holes but Chris had a steady 18.

It's a very pleasant and easy walking course, even though you're going to 3 separate areas of a course crossing roads, you don't really notice the elevations so it's easy on the legs even though you can be quite high at times looking down to rolling fairways.

It was all to play for with 4 holes to go after I parred the index 2 14th and was only 1 point adrift of Chris, but he decided to turn the screw with some very decent drives and I chased, wrongly, only to add a miserly 3 points from 8 to finish on 29

A great day with a beautiful looking clubhouse as you approach the 18th.

With the match won Chris decided to put his ball in trouble leaving an awkward chip off this stump with his putter to get back onto the 18th fairway

The carvery before we went out was very nice and tasty also.

As for the bunkers, the greens staff had Monday morning off, I raked 10 of the buggers, 6 on the front 9. Even when I thought I had nailed a drive, the run offs into them and bounces into them was, well it was getting silly, and being a Harry Colt course the bunkers all had steep frontages so it was a lost shot with no yardages out of them gained at all!

Excellent afternoon's golf in great company on an even better course, but Sunday nights on the motorways are a no no

You stood me up last time, you cheeky git! :ears:

I'm sure we can sort out another one James, may need to give it a few weeks as winter prep course works start on the 14th.

I think I'm right in saying that Cuddington has the longest opening 3 holes in Surrey with 2 par 5s over 500 yards and a par 4 well over 400 so if you score well on those 3 then a good round awaits!

It's a cracking course and well worth a visit.

I went, NR (zero points), par (3 points), Boget (2 points), Birdie (4 points) :D

But then the 6th comes, a 449 yards par 4 uphill into the wind
