When at my local newsagent to pick up my copy of Golf Monthly, I noticed next to it the current Todays Golfer magazine with their "2014 Driver test" on the front cover.

As I have recently been testing new drivers to see if I can get improvement on my existing Titleist 910 , I was interested to see what their "test" had shown to be the best driver. I had a quick glance to see which had won the golf award and "surprise, surprise", they had given 4 golf awards. One each to a Ping i25, Nike Covert, Callaway Big Bertha and Taylor made SLDR.

I guess it protects their advertising revenue for the next 12 months.

Hope I am not being to cynical !!!

There has been a few other tests recently too, and yes those are the top performers in those too, MyGolfspy comes to mind and they are totally independent of advertising revenue from those guys.

Was the Titleist driver included in the TG testing ?

Actually that is exactly what I'd expect. I'd be more surprised if they chose one as the "best". Given the extensive R&D and testing I'm not surprised the big manufacturers all produce good clubs. Each one will have its fans. There will be no "best" one.
