Now lads and lasses...you may recall that about a week or so ago I was castigating the Scramble as the worst comp ever. Well bugger me, my team of 4 won today's scramble with a score of 47.4 (16 holes - 6 birdies and 10 pars), and £50 winnings in the pro shop. :o :o
It's still not proper golf, but I'll hold my hand up and admit that it was a) good fun (it always is when you win) and b) reasonably competetive.
Come the spring I'm going to start dissing medal comps, in the hope that it will have the same effect.
 
I think it's an excellent game and great for bringing people into golf. It doesn't matter what the handicaps are of the players and it let's everyone have a little taste of pressure. I love it when there's a 30foot putt to be had and the first person rolls it up to the hole meaning the next 3 people can have a right go at it.

I'm not sure why you wouldn't like it unless you're one of those people that can't stand enjoying more than 3 hours of golf :D
