So I'm off down to the hirsel for their ladies open this weekend.... It's a Tex mex scramble. I'm not a great fan of scrambles although they can be fun on occasion but we've got a coach load going down there so hopefully the thunder will stay away and we'll have a good day!

Anyway, can someone remind me what the difference between this and a Texas scramble is?

I have a Tex Mex pizza in the freezer if that's any help.

I think this is the one where everyone hits their drive and you pick the "best" one. Then the other 3 players (but not the person who hit the chosen drive) play the second shot and so on. In effect you have 4 drives to choose from but then only 3 shots after that. Makes choosing the drive more difficult as sometimes you will choose a worse drive just so that one of your better players can play the second shot.

I thought that one was a Florida scramble, but I can't tell you what a Tex Mex scramble is, never heard of it before this post.

Just come of the course from a (shotgun start from every tee) Texas scramble for Captain's Day.
Thoroughly enjoyed it.
At some point in the round we all played "killer shots" to contribute so great fun as a team.
After the first session we were in third place and now the rain's come in - result!
By the second tee off (1.30pm) there were 140+ members milling around socialising and there were free beers and hot dogs from the Captain between 18th and 1st tee.
We bagged the 1st tee at 8.30 so the beer was welcome as we walked off.
Others succumbed to the beer mid round and seemed to regret doing so.
A great event with an informal dinner and entertainment tonight.
