Borrowed 2 drivers from my local golf shop. They are TM Burner 09 and Cleveland Launcher. Looking to see how they compare to my Nike. I will keep you posted as to how I get on.

The shop is golf matters in Witney. Good bunch in there. You fill a form out,They take a debit/credit card number off you. You tell them when you are going to take it back and off you go.

I quite like the Yonex nanospeed i but the one shop locally that has one is AG and I prefer a range where i can see the ball than a net and PC

I liked the Nanospeed and posted a thread to that effect yonks ago. I only tried it in AG in Slough but it was 4mph quicker than my model and the TM Burner 09 and was actually a tighter dispersion. I am tempted to try it on the range at Bird Hills over the weekend to see how it flies but the one thing that puts me of Yonex as a brand is the fact that you have £200 worth of driver and a really nasty and cheap grip on it. I know you can it regripped but that isn't really the point

I was in AG in Milton keynes this week and saw the Yonex. Couldn't believe the grip either - you get a better one on Dunlop clubs from Sports Direct for crying out loud!

What were they thinking?

I tried the Yonex nanospeed i reg shaft and the Ping v2 rapture stiff today. I found the yonex to be quite flexible and very light. I did like the V2 much better feel about it though i dont like the green coloured shafts, but i'm going to try afew others before i make my final decision.

i must admit though its a hard choice picking a driver when your able to afford any driver in the shop.

My advice would be to get yourself on some sort of swing monitor so you can see how different drivers perform in terms of swing speed, spin rate etc and ideally if they have it show you how far and wide the dispersion is. Better still try and find a range to hit drivers so you can see for yourself how far and how high the ball flies.

Sorry, But i've just realised what i wrote and it sounds like i'm bragging but i'm not. When i bought my last driver 5yrs ago i was limited to what i can afford and now i've got a pocket full of cash burning a hole in my pocket.

Although i will buy the club thats best for me rather than the most expensive one.

Glad you have the opportunity to buy what you want. My advice about seeing the balls fly on a range still stands though. One thing hitting them on a machine but nothing beats seeing the ball flight etc to help make the decision. Take your time and don't splash the cash until you are completely satisfied. If in doubt walk away. These big dogs can be a pricey acquisition and an expensive mistake if you struggle with it once you get on the course.

Homer, after speaking with my Pro today he has suggested i come down the range next week and he will advise me on which driver to buy after testing a few.

The Pro shop does have a good selection of drivers to chooose from so i will do that.

I tried the 2 drivers on the range and it was nice to see the ball flight instead of just into a net. The range i use has a very good pro shop, superb lads who know their stuff and the modern technology to assist you.

I have refrained from buying from my local AG because they dont have a range and its hard to be 100% certain just hitting into a net
