Terry my son, the world's your lobster

Sad news about George Cole today. One of Britains acting royalty, and in his portrayal of Arthur Daley, simply unsurpassable genius.

Hope he's somewhere having a VAT on God's slate right now. :D

Absolutely concur with this!

Interesting to read about the Alistair Sim connection too! Another of my favourite actors!

Sir David Jason (White) is about the last of that breed - and he hasn't looked well for some time!

Yes, I knew about him being mentored by Alistair Sim as a young actor. I often saw echoes of Sim in some of Arfur's mannerisms and expressions.

Just bought the box set on Amazon (Waterman years) and at under £27 it's brilliant value too.

Yep. Many fond memories of watching Arfur getting into scrapes and Terry getting him out of 'em.
Flash Harry was a great character too.

I hope he receives a wee nod of appreciation from the telly execs and a few reruns are shown.

Used to love watching Minder, George Cole was brilliant in this role, one of the few actors that made me laugh out loud.
