Watching the tennis got me thinking back to a shot I played when I was about 10, on holiday with my family.

I hit a dropshot with the most spin I've ever seen. It bounced on to the other side of the net, then the spin made the ball bounce over the net again, on to my side of the court.

Tennis aficionados: What is the ruling here?

Unless the other player manages to reach over and hit the ball

Your point because it went over the net.

I suppose its no different to you getting so much spin and spinning it back into the net the shot is just unreturnable.

Doesn't the ball have to be in your side for you to be able to play the shot..? You can't hit a ball on the other side...
