Alright folks, I am just looking a bit info please.
I am really struggling with shoulder and elbow probs atm, I have an appointment with docs, just wondering if anyone has suffered probs and how long recovery was for them etc.

Cheers

I have had sore elbows from hitting too many range balls or practicing on the bone dry practice ground. Ibuprofen, ice and rest were all I did. It wasn't too bad and didn't stop me swinging a club but I did feel it on the course for a few rounds

Smiffy had it and bought some homopathic stuff off the web (homo being the word I wanted to get in there).

He'll be along at 6am to tell you all about it.

lol, thanks chaps, I have some tiger balm and ibuprofen, but dont want any long term damage, only have to get it right to see me through til oct, then i wont mind a few months with only the odd round and some practice!

I'm a little bit early (5.39am as I type) but James is right. I was suffering big time with it and it was really peeing me off. Even picking up a cup of tea/coffee, pint of beer after the game. even gripping the club would send pains shooting into my elbow. My already crap swing was hampered even further by my dread of bashing into the back of the ball with my irons.
I tried all manner of things, bought an electrical "wonder cure" off the internet that was about as much use as a chocolate ashtray, used creams, used a tennis elbow "support". Nothing was working. Then a further search for a cure discovered these...
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ruta-Grav-30C-Ho...6661&sr=1-1

I'd read that Ruta has been used as a homeopathic treatment for Tennis Elbow for years. So thought "I've got nothing to lose". I'm not a great lover of using pills and potions, I don't even like taking anything for headaches, I'd rather they went "naturally" but I was so cheesed off with this bloody pain in my elbow....
Bought a bottle, (they are not expensive), and started taking them regularly. Dissolve two or three on your tongue at a time. They are not unpleasant in their taste which helps. Within about a month, I wasn't bothered by my elbow again. It's totally gone. Fantastic.

Glad it worked for you mate.

I've heard that it's a very good muscle relaxant but as you have probably found out, nothing gets stiff anymore :D :D :D

I used an epycondylitis strap when playing golf. Didn't work for Smiffy, but did the job for me. Took about 6 months. Don't have to wear it now, but keep it in the bag.

Speak for yourself. Sam has no complaints.
At least every third Thursday in the month she doesn't

What --- every month????

Thanks smithy/murph I will have a look at those too. I am not a big pill taker either like, but it is doing my head in now!!!

It was driving me mad. Put my golf back a good 6 months as I was playing really well until I did my arm in and then couldn't hit toffee. Have only just really started hitting the ball "properly" again (although I am still capable of fecking it up!). The Ruta definitely worked.

Had frozen shoulder and could'nt lift my arm above shoulder height for months. One cortizone injection cured it.
Also suffered badly from tennis elbow; how. Playing tennis. So gave it up for the golf. Went to a very good sports injury clinic and had three or four electric sessions which with a bit of rest cured it. The electric treatment stimulates blood flow and helps mend the damage.
