Television trade ins?

It is surprising I never come across television trade ins these days. Even if I want a new smarty pants TV, what would I do with the old one unless I get some money off in a trade in? Either way I would never get it past the Mrs' first question 'what is wrong with the current one'..

.. works fine.. 40 inch flat LCD screen 576i (was top of the line when i bought it)

Nothing wrong with it at all, just me getting itchy with tech at home.... which is why it wont fly with the HID.

Yup, grew up watching one.. my parents finally got rid of it about 5 years ago along with the fridge which was due for its bus pass too... (interestingly the 'new generation' fridge has already had 2 service call outs in the past 3 years)
