looks like scotland will be getting another little gem, work is beginning on rennovating the existing taymouth castle course and turning it into a championship venue, says it will be open for play in july 2012 might be worth a visit, 40 miles north of gleneagles, i bet the views arent bad, think i might be retiring north of the border when the time comes, shame we cant get as many good courses down here

Has it actually been completed, the course I am on about because I read an article that implied it has with Stephen Gallacher being part of the redesign team.

Played it a long while back and it was lovely. They plan to add length to over 7k yards,re-route it to take in more of the river and design a couple of new holes and re create Braids bunkers which would have been deep but are now shallow due to it being mis kept over the years.

Beautiful piece of the land it is on with the Tay close by.

sounds like its closed, and its being re designed, should be open again in july next year, 2 new holes, new tees and new bunkers, sounds like its going to be a cracking course

the course is currently closed to visitors, however, the few holes which are not being redeveloped are open for members only to play..

as for the scenery, if you like hills all around you covered with fir trees, then that is what you get.

was up at kenmore in july and walked through to the golf course. a lot of earth has been moved and holes have been changed completely

It s a beautiful track and setting. I played it years ago and really enjoyed it.

Ideal central location to be a GM Forum outing in a year or so. Fingers crossed that they get it right and don't create a long slog.
