TaylorMade sold to KPS Capital Partners

I have a feeling the next "chatter" will be that Woods is behind the company.

Cloud Cookie Land!

Company has been around for years! Doing exactly this sort of deal! It bought, Royal Doulton, Wedgewood and Waterford some time ago - sold on a couple of years ago. And quite a few other examples of the 'socially acceptable side of capitalism' deals too!

I hope it goes well for all involved!

Adidas have sold TM? I'm sure someone told me a year ago they weren't looking to sell... Mind you, I also remember them thinking that Liverpool would be any good...

TM have got a large chunk of the top ten signed up on big deals. I have to say that knowing how much of each club/ball costs are disappearing off to Rory et al would make me rather less likely to buy their stuff. Still, I'm sure someone has done the maths.

Would like to be fly in wall of TM when they are producing their business model.

Their outgoings must be massive. Rory and Tiger this year, to add to DJ, Day, Garcia, Rose, Kaymer, Holmes, as well as loads of other PGA pros, and they seem to be sponsoring half of youtube now too.

I only ever see people who bought a new driver this year with the Callaway Epic, not seen any new M1 or M2...hardly ever see taylor made balls, don't even know if taylor made make wedges?

Understand that the M family of woods is the number one selling woods in the U.K. for this year and last year.

No doubt their sales worldwide are massive

They will never be like that in Regards Irons and Balls

Yeah fair enough if the figure is accurate I hear that too

I just don't see that many while I have seen a lot of Epics, it seemed to get great hype this year

I've seen reports that their golf sales figures have dropped from $1.7bn in 2012 to $500m in 2016, that's quite a drop.

The percentage drop in sales in regards equipment is pretty much the same across the board for most manufacturers

For TM it was 1.3 BN Euro in 2012 net sales

2015 was 900mil Euro net sales which was around the same for 2014 - don't think 2016 have been released yet

But seems looking at this they had a bit of a comeback
