So, I've been after a hybrid for a while. Think I've decided on the taylormade but thought I'd asked the collective knowledge of you guys for a final opinion. Absolutely in live with the nike covert but think its a bit pricey for me as a beginner. Anyways, reviews please guys and girls.

Its a great club, I have an 18 deg that I stick in now and again and would argue its the best hybrid I've had despite the fact it's out more than it is in the bag as I also use a 17 deg 4 wood.

I have a driver and 3wood in the bag, can't hit them off the deck and pretty poor with the 4 iron tbh. What's shaft length like on 18degrees, as that's what I'm looking at getting.

I have a 2 iron replacement (even tho it says 3 on the bottom, bloomin TM) I have it cranked up a degree for distance matching.

Its pretty good, I used to hit it OK and straight, now I hit it well and it draws. My swing really isnt suited to these clubs and I would probably be better off with a 2 iron but I have no complaints about it. When I hit it straight and true I know my swing is going in the right direction!

I had one before my RBZ2. truly awesome club, standard shaft was a bit whippy, so found an 85g stiff TP shaft on ebay and it transformed it, mine was #4 which was 21* IIRC. Went for miles with a beautiful draw (the only club i could draw at the time!) I was primed to buy the #2, but i got lucky ;). Mega club from 28 hacker to pro IMHO.

i had a hit with one the other day, really liked how it felt off the face, i would have bought there and then, but the guy in Direct golf was certain that it wouldnt have suited me as it was the TP shaft and they didnt have any other in different shafts. Keeps trying to push me on to some adams hybrids which i liked but like the feel of the rescue 11 better.

Been having a look to see whats about and seem direct golf do it online with a different shaft. Tempted.

this really doesn't make a lot of sense - a fair bit of how a club 'feels off the face' is related to the shaft, and looking at your driver I would have suggested the TP shaft upfront.

strange

I find the regular shaft fine. I wouldn't be put off by the shaft snobs:blah:

it's more what suits. the TP shaft is, and feels, heavier. this works well for some people but not for others. I tend to ignore the rest of it though - what works is more important than the label every time.

Yeah well as I said I really liked how the club felt, but no matter what I said the guy would just dismiss it and say its not suitable as its ment for pros and low digit handicappers so I just walked and didn't purchase anything.
