Taylormade "make the hole bigger"

Did anyone read the interview with the R&A chief Peter Dawson in Golf World this month ? He has regular discussions with the manufacturers, and apparently Taylormade had suggested that the hole should be made bigger. Seems ridiculous to me, and I liked Dawsons response which was basically it's a tough game, deal with it.

If the hole was bigger, I think I could easily shave 4 shots off my handicap based on the number that just miss each round, but I'd sooner be off 12 with things as they are than 8 putting into a bucket.

Would anyone feel better having a lower handicap but easier game ?

I'm happy with the hole size the way it is. It could be moved nearer to my ball though.

A little shocked if they did do it in snooker but no, you cant change the rules of the game this far down the road. I guess its the same for everyone but NO.

i mean virtually everyone* uses woods the size of an Elephants backside now to make them easier to hit out of the middle

i say go the whole hog and have laser guided balls too that will go in off every tee shot then we can all shoot a hole in one every shot & do a whole round in 18 shots

I wasnt aware he played golf


so i put what i put in my previous post about lrg headed drivers...
and guess what happens a knock at the door my grandmothers friend ,her husband just given me a club as he doesnt use it any more

Whoever originally suggested the hole size got it spot on in my opinion.

That's actually not too bad an idea! You should be able to change the lie on your putter.

lucky really i'd have more clubs im never gonna use
but didnt want to say no and be impolite

i might go hit it once or twice in my net just for the crack, but its whippy as hell and sounds like 2 champagne glasses clinking together (from bouncing a ball on its face)

wonder if i can get my swingspeed upto 500 mph so i can drive it 10 million miles & of course I'll still be able to hit it out the middle tho its that large
