Hi guys. Just a random one. I'm finally thinking of getting a new driver. Just looking at taylormade. Could someone tell me difference between the taylormade r11s and the rbz range of drivers? Are they for different skill levels. I can pick both up for around £80 2nd hand so just wondering :)

R11S is adjustable face 5 positions open - closed and flight controll (weights in head) as well as loft +- 1.5 degrees, the RBZ is just abjustable on loft.

Not different skill levels, just different drivers. Standard shaft is a matrix in the RBZ and an Aldila in the R11s. The loft adjustment on both will alter the face open and close, but the R11s has the added extra of the sole plate to adjust how the the club sits at address and the weights alter the face open and closed through impact.

I apologise for jumping in, but I have just started playing and am also looking for advise on drivers. I started with a Taylormade R7 9.5* stiff shaft, which was Ok isn, the pro who is giving me lessons suggested a 10.5 reg shaft might be more suitable, so I have bought a second hand R1 with a 55g Reg and Stiff Shaft, which I am trying out. Considering I am new to the game, I am 55 and I am thinking my club head speed is low at the moment, in yours opinions is a a Reg flex better starting pointing? Would welcome your views. I also have a RBZ Stage 2 HL 3 Wood which is is Reg flex, which I am trying to master, practice, practice, practice I thinking

Try both shafts, whichever is straighter use thst, better to be 10 yards further from the green on the fairway than closer and in the rough

Picked up a second hand R9 TP 9.5 driver yesterday for £40, really really loving the club.
To put it into perspective, I usually use a 19 deg hybrid for all tee shots, drivers just feel alien in my hand and they usually go waaay right or top them 50 yards.
Been to the range twice with the R9 and can barely get a slice out of it
Slightly smaller head also gives me confidence with my swing for some reason but what a difference for me.

I've got the RBZ driver in regular flex, love the club head, very forgiving and its good that it can be adjusted.
However I can't stand the shaft, have to choke down on the club by about an inch and a half as its far too big to get any sort of accuracy and consistency, and for a regular flex it is pretty whippy.
Would cut it down but I don't fancy messing about with the swing weight, and I have no clue about after market shafts so wouldn't know where to look.
AG are selling them for £100 atm, well worth that IMO if you can get past the longer shaft.

That's why I got the Accra shaft for mine. Turns a middle of the road driver into a proper tool. They cost a few bob but are much more stable.

I doubt an inch or so will make any difference to the swingweight that would affect you.

As Tommo has said if you can get a TP shaft it will transform the club. I have a Matrix Ozik HD6 TP shaft in my RBZ and it's superb.

as much as any generalisation has value, I would think these are both very appropriate tools for you. enjoy.

Regarding shafts I would defiantly switch out the stock shaft. Originally I changed for an Aldila 85-s. I have now changed to a Fubuki 70g X-Stiff. Like tommo said it really does make a big difference to these clubs.

Only problem is with messing around with shafts is I have no idea what I should be going for and I've heard it can becoming quite expensive.
Might need to look into it though as the stock regular flex shaft is pretty bad.
