Have to say that im the worlds worst putter. Walked into my local pro shop and spotted the DLL sitting in the rack. 'want to try it' came the voice from the pro, so being the gear junky that i am thats exactly what i did and im now in love with it!!! Everything about it just feels right. Anyone else tried it??

I tried it, i wanted to buy it before i tried it.

I spent a good 40 minutes on the putting green with it. Its very different, and the high MOI i agree did ensure pretty much all putts went where i aimed them! what i struggled with, was distance control with it. for some reason, even though its not. it felt too light for me, i was leaving everything short.

I didnt end up buying it, it wasnt the magic cure i had hoped for. if i didnt own a putter tried it, i probably would have bought it, but it did not perform much better than my current one. I am going to try the Spider blade when its out in a few weeks..

One thing i did find, using the DLL for a while, it actually improved my putting with my Daytona somehow!!

In short, its nice, just not nice enough for me. Plus the head is massive!!!

Hadnt heard of the DLL before this post, so had to google it.

I own a Ghost spider... and love it. It has a big head and I have had people ask me if it comes with 'headlight and parking sensors' :)
So interesting to see DLL has even bigger head!! Are putters becoming bigger than drivers?

New putter with a 460cc head anyone? (shld patent it before the gezzers at TM call it 'Phantom', 'Killer', 'Squasher'.....)

I had a look at one of these last night while waiting for my lesson.

Its basically an old Spider, or Itsy Bitsy mallet head with a new paint job and different insert.

Nothing new here I'm afraid, only TM marketing guff.

Had the original spider and the itsy bitsy cousin. Great putter but couldn't get over the looks and was convinced I should be using a blade so went back to the old Anser. In the end I compromised with my Odyssey half mallet #9. Would be tempted to look at this again as my putting is pretty woeful at the moment

Huge amount of difference Gareth, while the head is similar, a lot of work has gone into the counter weight of the longer shaft with weights in the butt end, to give belly putter like stability, without anchoring. It's a major development in putter technology!

My friend had brought a new 2 ball a week before trying this whilst we were waiting in the shop the other day. I turned around and he brought it and I am now going to sell his old one. He swears by it and took some money off me on Saturday!!!

Woah, for a second there I thought I had walked into a branch of American Golf....

I don't buy it fella.

The head of the club aside from a notch out of the back is the same. Different insert, different paint that's all I see.

As regarding the re weighting of the grip, there is a knock on effect with that.

To keep the swing weight something like equal (with adding extra weight to the grip) they have had to add additional weight to the head. The head on the DLL comes in at a shade under 400g. That is a heavy head in any putter when you consider most standard length (33"-35") putters are around the 340g-350g mark.

They've also had to fit a longer, heavier, than standard grip as a part if the balancing act.

As a high MOI putter i have no doubt you could hit it anywhere on the face, within reason, and still get a true'ish roll. Doesn't change the fact the the head is still on the heavy side and will probably be a bit harder to control your distance on fast greens, but if it works, best if luck

I tried one of these yesterday!! I couldn't miss, it is awesome

I hate Taylormade stuff, hate the old spider putter for being too big and really don't want to buy this, but.......I may have to, it's really that good.

I tried the 38 inch version, you grip down, which means it's belly putter in appearance without the anchoring. It felt really stable and I could not miss from under 6 feet !!

I tried it also from 30 feet + on our quick putting green, and distance control was fine. hmmmmm

the only reason for not buying now is to try the blade version

Actually there is something 'new' in it, though still quite a bit of marketing too.

Tried one a couple of weeks back and it felt Ok but awkward even after quite a session, so not for me.

Could be something to aid the belly addicts soon though.

Just had a similar experience with the Big Fontana TM putter. Was playing around with it in the pro shop whilst queuing yesterday. Half an hour later I had bought it and today just could not miss with it.
