Apologies if this post should go into 'ask the experts'

Was wondering, from the look of the 2009 bruner irons, which of the TM 2008 burner range irons they are aiming to replace -tour burner, burner plus or Burner XD.

Any of the GM team had a go?

It's a tough one to call at the moment as we haven't had samples into the office and so we can't see how thick the topline is or how deep the cavity is.

I expect TM would say they aren't a direct replacement for any of these models, they just expand the portfolio for golfers to choose from.

Looking at the pics and having read the press release I'd say these will be ultra forgiving without being too chunky. Sorry that I can't be more specific!

I was going to replace my iron's this month with either the burner plus or the CGB's, but I'm going to have to wait until the R9's are out now. At least if I wait and don't like the R9's, the others might be a bit cheeper.

I think I'll have to wait and see what they look like but pretty sure I'll give them all a good hit (just in the name of curiosity you understand). The new irons don't look as chunky on the top line as the ordinary burner but still have a big cavity. Mind you cally were looking for a thinner top line on the X22 compared with the X20 and they are still firmly a cavity back. Hard to say based on the pics.
