Hi, I have has a set of these now for 9 months purchased from Direct Golf. Whilst they are a great club and I love them, all of the black paint has started peeling off in the cavitys at the back. I was wondering if anyone else had had a similar issue ?

Yeah registered them as soon as I got them from DG in Walsall. Took them back yesterday and they looked at me as if to say what are you moaning for they work don't they. Felt like saying if i buy a new car but all the paint falls off do I keep it ?. They are going to call me back once they have sent them to Taylor Made.

Hi Wolfman

I find the people DG in Walsall so unhelpful, they always try push the John letters stuff and now I use AG in Telford or my local club shop.

Contact TM direct they will sort it out.

I'd contact TM directly although its their policy that returns usually have to go through the point of purchase. Do you have th ereceipt of the registration information. I had a set and to be honest I had no problems

I'm quite impressed with DG Walsall and can't see them letting you down over this issue. Maybe I'm too long in the tooth to fall for sales pitches but I have 100% satisfaction from using this store. I also find AG Telford good.
If DG don't seem keen, get onto TM and test out their customer service. If you're not happy and believe you have a case, go through the retailer until the point when it's clear they are not going to help you.
The only story I can recall is a player who'd bought a bag (Mizuno) (NOT DG Walsall), had trouble after the store washed their hands. He kept at it and after explaining the problem to Mizuno HQ got a replacement and free gift. The manufacturers and the retailers are in a mutually beneficial relationship, most things resolve themselves in the end.
Good luck.

If they have sold you them and they are still in warranty they should have swapped them and sent them back to TM. It is Dg you have the contract with not TM.The problem is not yours. You have rights under consumer law.
We all have rights when buying goods as a consumer from a trader. Whilst there are various laws that protect those rights, the main ones are:

* The Sale of Goods Act 1979 (as amended)
* The Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982

The Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982 does not apply in Scotland, but Scottish common law offers similar protection.

The trader must provide you with goods that are:

* Of satisfactory quality

Goods must meet the standard that a reasonable person would regard as satisfactory, taking account of any description of the goods, the price and all other relevant circumstances. The quality of goods includes their appearance and finish, their safety and their durability.

Hi there Wolfy, I've had mine for about 4 months now and been using them twice a week. I can't say that i've noticed any problems with my irons. I clean them down after each round with good old water . Do you use head covers? If the supplier asks the same question, tell them yes. Let us know how you get on.

Had mine for about 18 months and I've noticed the same issue on my clubs.

Can't say I've given it much thought as it doesn't effect the club in any way.

If DG or TM will do something about it good luck, however they are a golf club - designed to hit a relatively hard object at high speeds. They won't remain perfect for long.

Good luck anyway.

John.

Thanks guys for all your advice. Yes i do use head covers and its not them clanking in the bag. Spoke to TM today (very helpful on the phone) they have been re headed so i have a new set of heads. As mine were one degree up I guess DG will have "bend them" again when they arrive. Has anyone any thoughts on this ? Will they be as good as new ? I am assuming that TM will have to guarantee their workmanship for twelve months from now ?. Does anyone know if that is correct Eg: I am within my rights to request a replacement set rather than a repaired set ?

Well after a few phone calls DG head office mailed them back to me in time for Saturdays round. The good news is the ones they fixed are superb - you could never tell the heads have been off. The bad news is the guys at TM must be short sighted as they have missed some of them so I will be complaining a bit more tomorrow
